New School Year Prayer!

Elizabeth 6, Garrett 3, Emma 8

We began this new school year yesterday. As we all know it started about 2 weeks ago as we realized it was August... where did the summer go? We swam, played, rode bikes, traveled to family, camped in our backyard, ate smores, cooked hot dogs over a fire, bowled, swam more and more, and relearned that our family has built-in playmates that we usually don't play with during the school year as much, went to parks, ate ice cream, went to a parade, saw family, crafted, painted, beaded, sun-bathed, ate popsicles and wow so much more. After all that fun now we had a week to check our school supply stock and get last-minute needs, get new shoes since kids keep growing, and just begin talking about what school is like, praying for our classes, and calming nerves about school. Well, then it happened the day came when they could walk across the street again to school and begin another journey. This year we have Emma,8, who is in 3rd grade. She loves reading, math, art, music, and well just doing everything. She will be starting official piano lessons through the community which she began a little last year with her mom. Elizabeth, 6, is in first grade. She loves to play barbies, giggle, read so much, color, craft, and well, like her sister, just loves doing it all. Last, but not least there is Garrett, 3, who will be starting year 2 mommy Preschool. He will be at home with mom again learning all the things... for those who know me yes, I have a learning binder I just updated for a monster truck-loving 3-year-old to help him to practice skills for next year's 4-year-old preschool year. Garrett loves all things vehicles, monkeys, physical, and fast. So then there is Mom, me. I am in my 8th year of doing home-things, keeping up my teaching license classes, cooking, enjoying our new kitchen, attending a women's BSF bible study, and just soaking in these last few years of home life before the big what is next comes. This is why I am here again. Sharing my heart, my love, being a small vessel for God to remind me of who HE is and the Love he has for me to share. Here is my prayer for all who are starting something fresh something new again.

Lord,
Thank you for loving us all so much that you died on the cross for each of us. Your love for us is so amazing that if we stopped to think about it we would be overfilled with love for you and others. Thank you for helping us in this new year, this new season. You have brought us here for this new season this new change for such a time as this. You call us into changes with the reassurance you are always there."And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20. Thank you for this reassurance of your presence as we journey on.
Thank you for the children you have given to us. Thank you for giving them to us to help guide and direct. Please give us the insight of wisdom on how to raise, teach, and direct these children in the way you have for us. Start children off on the way theshould go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6 Let this be our heart's goal to love our children as you have loved us and guide them in their life so they can grow to love and worship you only. I pray that our kids would speak the truth in love and kindness towards all others. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. Colossians 4:6 And help them to let their lights shine before their friends. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Lord, renew the minds of all who are reading this today. Renew the minds of the mothers, teachers, adults, workers, and all those who know and do not know you. Lord renew our minds and give us strength for the day ahead. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 Help us see you in our everyday life. You are all around guiding us and giving us peace if we would just be still. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10 This year would we seek to be still in your presence so we can stay tuned with your guidance for us. Challenge us in our relationship with you to become more and more like you every day!  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2 Forgive us as we are crying out to you again in our weakness and thank you for the forgiveness and strength for this very next moment.
In Jesus' mighty and wonderful name, we pray,
         AMEN
