Digging in Deep
For the word of God is Alive and Active. Hebrews 4:12
For those who believe in God, we are called to be the city on the hill so others may see God's light. I have been encouraged and challenged by this my whole life. Through high school and college, I was able to be with others who helped me keep the word of God alive and active. We had bible studies and prayer times together seeking God, being accountable, and sharing with others became second nature because of the community I shared; many kids all in one place. As I have journeyed out of college into married life my community changed to a workplace, church, and roommate and husband where I still would have many people in one place where God could direct me to pour out love in encouragement.
The big and most challenging change in my life is when we began to have children. I love my children and family very much but due to our choice for me to stay home and "raise them in the way they should go", I have struggled to keep the word of God alive and active in my current community outside of my family. I have less contact with other people, besides my family, on a daily basis and with the restrictions of time; naps and bedtime, my heart has become overwhelmed to share conversations about God with others. I have been able to find a Bible Study Fellowship, BSF, in my neighborhood which is a wonderful time to share God's word with others, but my heart is still full of encouragement for women.
Digging Deep will be a place of encouragement and purposeful discussion of God's Word from my heart to yours. I pray that through my prayerful meditation and connection of God's Word to my life your heart may be encouraged to keep the word of God alive and active in your communities no matter what journey of life you are in now!
