I'm Back..
I'm back! The month of June turned out to be the biggest ride of our summer. We were finishing projects, prepping for the 50th-anniversary trip, and so much more the computer stayed shut and my mind was preoccupied. But I am back. I wanted to share an about our trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Matthew's parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year! We were honored to celebrate all God has done in their marriage. They decided while the family was in Iowa to celebrate the party we would take a family vacation to the Black Hills. Here is a recap of some fun we had!
We stayed in a Cabin with 6 large bedrooms, a full kitchen, and wonderful deck. It was so much fun to be together and have plenty of room for all of us to relax and be together. One surprise is that there was a ranch just up the road which had horses. At night we would see the horses were led out to pasture which was on the left of our cabin and then in the morning they would come a running past our cabin again to head into the ranch. What a wonderful surprise for the girls and all of us. They were beautiful!
Also at the cabin, we were able to spend nights eating together. There was a firepit which we used once, played corn hole, sat on the deck and drank coffee, and we made homemade vanilla ice cream. Emma loved spinning the ice cream!
We visited some falls while we were there and the girls loved walking in nature and watching the water flow. This was nice to get out and check out what God has wonderfully made.
Of course, we visited Mnt. Rushmore and took some pictures!
We rode the 1880's train from Hill City to Keystone and back! The girls had so much fun just being on a big choo choo!
These princesses with their Prince!
The last pictures were our favorite part of the trip. Storybook Island in Rapid City, SD. It is a free park where you can walk around and see characters from so many storybook stories while interacting with the characters, their homes, sliding on slides, crawling, jumping and so much more. Emma loves princesses so she got to see Snow White and Cinderella. Elizabeth loves the Cat in the Hat and animals! We had so much fun seeing the girls eyes light up with excitement as they could explore so many things!
There are so many topics I am excited to dive into with you again! Devotionals, crafting, recipes, mommy stuff, and just taking time to talk with you and encourage you! Keep checking back in for so much more this summer!

Looks like you had a ton of fun. I love seeing the smiles on the girls face!!
